January 2026

This is our first update transitioning to a direct email system. We are doing this to ensure better deliverability and tracking, as we’ve noted some backers were missing previous updates.

Personal Note: I apologize for the delay in sending this. My mother has been unexpectedly in the ICU since Christmas, and I had to focus on the most critical and time sensitive aspects of Meticulous.

Key Highlights & Timeline

We have delivered the majority of the first 1,000-unit batch, and the feedback has been incredible! You can view first impressions and photos at meticuloushome.com/pages/testimonials

Based on our experience, we believe we can deliver all machines by June. We are working to create a CRM that allow you to look up your Backer number and see which batch you have been assigned to and the expected timing. We know this has been heavily requested and we are now in a position to act on it.

Batch 1 Summary (The First 1,000)

Our commitment to quality remains our top priority. Here is the breakdown of our initial production run:

  • Quality Control: 800 units met our strict criteria immediately; 200 are awaiting replacement components. Going forward we will have more component inventory.

  • Shipment Pause: We identified a small number of motor burnouts caused by "choked shots" - grinding too fine and choking the machine for shots over 3 minutes. We paused 300 shipments to implement a software update to automatically abort brews if they risk damaging the motor.

  • Shipping Status: 500+ machines delivered. 300 units ship next week following the software update. Final 200 units will ship once replacement components arrive.

  • Logistics Reliability: Out of 500+ deliveries, none were returned by Customs. We had one case of damage due to shipping, one missing drip tray and one missing basket.

Scaling Production

With the experience from our first mass production batch, we have visibility into our build speed and quality assurance process.

Unlike the first batch, we plan to ship machines as they are built and tested, so there will be a steady stream of shipments.

The team invested a lot into testing and reporting, allowing us to review sensor data from every machine to ensure it performs to specification before it leaves the factory. This was a critical goal for our first Mass Production batch, and we’d like to share some of the testing and reporting we review that gives us confidence we can scale production.

Upcoming Manufacturing Batches

Hardware & Accessories

  • White Machines: Testing begins with the Feb/March batch. These will go to Beta testers first to ensure the powder coating meets our quality requirements.

  • Accessories: Production kicks off after the Chinese New Year holiday.

  • Meticulous Milk: Prototypes are being manufactured in February. We will follow the same beta-testing model used for the Espresso machine to refine the hardware and software quickly.

Thank you for your continued support and feedback.

We are working hard to improve the onboarding experience and education for every new user and look forward to delivering everyone’s machine as quickly as we can.
