2026M1041-Stable (January 5, 2026)
UX
- Scheduled Maintenance: The machine will now automatically reboot after an update is installed late at night.
- Display Longevity: Implemented hardware-level protections to reduce LCD screen burn-in.
- Smoother Interface: Increased display refresh rate from 55Hz to 60Hz for a more fluid UI experience.
Technical
- Display Timings: Reworked display timings to eliminate signal interference in the internal ribbon cable caused by high environmental humidity.
- Voltage Optimization: Reduced pixel driving voltage to further mitigate long-term LCD burn-in.
- OS Downgrade (Stability): Downgraded from Debian Trixie back to Bookworm. This resolves PulseAudio issues and ensures compatibility with NXP requirements.
- Kernel Updates: Rebased to Linux 6.12.60. Added an optional downstream kernel (NXP/Variscite lf-6.6.x) for power users.
- GPU & Rendering: Upgraded GPU drivers with temporary software rendering to ensure display timing stability before re-enabling full hardware acceleration.
- Data Integrity: Update status is now persisted to disk to prevent state loss during power cycles.
